“SOBAN” means a small Korean traditional dining table with short legs.
We started serving customers since 2012 in dumaguete with the following missions.
Korean cuisine has evolved through centuries of social and political change. Originating from ancient agricultural and nomadic traditions in the Korean peninsula and southern Manchuria, Korean cuisine has evolved through a complex interaction of the natural environment and different cultural trends.
Korean cuisine is largely based on rice, vegetables, and meats. Traditional Korean meals are noted for the number of side dishes (banchan) that accompany steam-cooked short-grain rice. Kimchi is almost always served at every meal. Commonly used ingredients include sesame oil, doenjang (fermented bean paste), soy sauce, salt, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes and gochujang (fermented red chili paste).

The food is really good. Like Korean good. Pricey but good to be shared so you can split the bill anyway. Rice is heavy so a cup can be too much. Lots of side dishes. Staff is friendly as well.
The Soban Restaurant is a wonderful experience. If you want to take your girl friend to a quiet intimate spot, this isn't the place but if you want superb service with a friendly smile this is the place. Initially the food appears expensive on the menu until you receive 5 appetizers green tea for free and after your meal ice tea again for free. Wow nobody does that! Food is well presented. Restrooms need a work over. Chicken was a little tough but the rest was heaven. The restroom and chicken were what caused it from being a 5. Would i go back? In the blink of an eye. Outstanding job.
Unlimited side dish is real and they give you complementary tea. A good and quiet place to eat and the staffs were so accommodating.
My brother Chuckie Boy Guevarra celebrated his Birthday here December 26 2018 really classic Korean foods.
Varied side dishes. Good ice tea. Friendly staff. Melona products.
So I apparently came to the Philippines to find the best Korean restaurant! Customer service exceeded my expectations after a bit of a wait, but I guess that's too be expected for a Friday night dinner service. I came around 7:45pm. They had unlimited refills on the app dishes and decent Wi-Fi to keep myself entertained. The waitresses were very sweet and offered a complementary drink. I ordered a dumpling soup dish for 320pesos and left so impressed with a 110peso tip.
